The initiative was carried out at the Omar Bin Abdulaziz Basic Girls School, Tulkarem. It aimed at developing the students’ spirit of initiative and creative thinking and encouraging handicrafts, embodying the heritage and the importance of preserving it. Embroidery, for instance, is a good example of the handicrafts of heritage.
The initiative sought to put into effect the concepts of teamwork and cooperation as well as the empowering of women economically. Accordingly, during the initiative female students worked on creating paperwallets engraved on them Palestinian embroidery.
The initiative was organized in cooperation with volunteer Ro’a Omar and Wouroud Abdel-Haq and under the supervision of the school principal Lina Al-Salman, “as part of the UNICEF project.
