“Plant a Tree” Initiative

Ninth grade students from the Helmi Hanoun basic boys’ school in Tulkarem, carried out the initiative to improve the school environment, by cleaning the soil near the school and by getting it prepared for the plantation of trees. The main aim behind this is to increase the green areas, as a kind of agricultural investment that will eventually enable students to generate some income and support their activities through the school budget.

In preparing for the initiative, the trainer divided the students into groups that take on specific tasks. These include, setting a budget for the costs of the initiative’s supplies, applying the principles of managing financial resources in terms of spending, savings and participation as well as the process of administering the purchasing of needed material and the distribution of roles, where each group would carry out the tasks assigned to them
