Shahd Odeh, a student, talks about her experience as general manager of the Raya media network

“The best thing about this experience is that I was at the heart of the job, and I realized the challenges and the circumstances surrounding any decision maker,” says law student Shahd Odeh, who took over as general manager of the Raya Media Network for a week.

She then added, “Such experiences provide young people and graduates with an opportunity to get to know the job market closely, and make sure to integrate them into their practical life and develop their capabilities”.

Odeh had this opportunity during her participation in a seminar organized by INJAZ Palestine entitled “How to be a leader”, presented by the Chairman of the Raya Board of Directors, Mr. Bassam Walweel at An-Najah University in Nablus.

To further encourage and support students, who show perseverance and readiness to excel in the world of business management, Walweel provided Odeh with the opportunity to get the training, particularly, after she expressed her willingness and desire to assume the position of general manager in “Raya”, which will enable her to get to know the job market very closely. 

Ms. Odeh, a fourth-year law student assumed the position of the general manager of the Raya network for a week, during which time she learned about working conditions, and her responsibilities as a manager, and chaired meetings and was aware of the daily activities of the network. 

The Nablus branch manager, Ms. Ghada Kittaneh, stressed the importance of these opportunities for students in order to have a work experience, and to get to know the most prominent skills that a student must possess in order to get involved in the job market.
