From a Student Experience to a Journey of Entrepreneurship and Leadership
My journey with INJAZ Palestine began through my participation in the Student Company Program, representing Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, where I took on the role of General Manager of Safetech. Together with my team, we worked with passion and determination and succeeded in winning the title of Best Student Company in Palestine.
This achievement gave us the opportunity to represent Palestine at the regional level in the competition held in Qatar, where I received the Project Management Excellence Award from the Project Management Institute (PMI). This experience was a true turning point for me, as it took me beyond academic theory and into a practical environment where I experienced real challenges in the workplace and gained valuable skills in leadership, project management, and teamwork.
The experience also gave me the opportunity to connect with prominent entrepreneurs and leaders from across the Middle East and North Africa. These connections broadened my understanding of entrepreneurship and helped me connect my engineering background with my passion for project management and innovative solutions.
However, our journey did not end when the competition was over. Together with my team, we decided to turn our idea into a real business. We officially registered the company and began developing smart safety equipment designed to enhance occupational safety in workplaces through innovative solutions in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), with ambitions to expand both locally and regionally.
On a personal level, this experience played a major role in shaping my professional identity. It taught me how to lead a team, plan effectively, overcome challenges, and collaborate with people from different disciplines and backgrounds. Most importantly, I learned that the true value of an opportunity lies not only in experiencing it, but also in what we choose to do with what we learn from it.
For this reason, I was keen to remain connected to the INJAZ Palestine community. I joined the INJAZ Alumni Community, where I was later elected President of the Alumni Association.
I believe that the alumni community is an important platform through which we can give back and extend the impact that INJAZ programs have had on our lives. Through my role, I work with fellow alumni to organize training and development activities that aim to share our experiences, empower young people, and encourage students to turn their ideas into real projects and opportunities.
One of the milestones I am particularly proud of was participating as a speaker at the Middle East and North Africa Youth Employment Summit (MENA YES), organized by Education For Employment (EFE) in Amman, Jordan. The summit provided me with an opportunity to share my journey with experts and speakers from across the region and speak about the lessons I have gained throughout my professional journey.
For me, INJAZ was not simply a competition I participated in during my university years. It was the beginning of a journey that changed the way I think, expanded my ambitions, helped me discover my potential, and inspired me to believe that young people can create opportunities rather than simply wait for them.
Today, I aspire to continue this journey and share what I have learned with the next generation, so that the opportunities I received can become the starting point for new opportunities created by other young people.
